Altarations: Built, Blended, Processed泭presents works by 23 contemporary artists.泭Most of the artists live泭 and work throughout the United States while a few reside in other countries泭including Israel, Denmark and Peru.泭 While hardly unified in style and content, the artists works in泭Altarations泭blend photographic images and processes泭 to produce works that celebrate, contradict and泭undermine photographic traditions through altered images and references.泭 The title of the exhibition is泭derived from Mark C. Taylors Altarity, a 1987 book of philosopher Taylors writing that brings泭 together his interpretation and synthesis of several modern philosophers interpretations of difference泭and otherness.泭
