Alzheimer's Association Informational Presentation and Networking Event
On March 24, the Office of Research Development hosted a Research Connections event in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association, bringing together faculty from 911³Ô¹Ï and other regional institutions. This hybrid event offered both in-person and virtual networking opportunities. The program featured an informative presentation by Dr. Sarah Fontaine, Senior Director of Medical and Scientific Affairs at the Alzheimer’s Association. Following the presentation, attendees participated in networking sessions that encouraged meaningful connections among both in-person and virtual participants.
Researchers Connect on Mental Health
The Office of Research Development recently hosted a Research Connections event focused on mental health research, bringing faculty together to spark interdisciplinary partnerships and cross-college collaboration. The program featured an informational presentation from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, which funds comparative clinical effectiveness research to help patients and providers make informed decisions and improve healthcare outcomes. Ayse Torres, Ph.D., 911³Ô¹Ï’s College of Engineering and Computer Science, and Beth Pratt, Ph.D., Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, led a panel discussion followed by break-out groups.
Research Connections - Cancer Research - Oct. 2025
Research Development recently hosted a Research Connections event, bringing together faculty interested in cancer research with the goal of fostering interdisciplinary partnerships and cross-college collaboration. "This event wasn’t just about sharing knowledge - it was about building a network of minds dedicated to pushing the boundaries of cancer research, combining resources, and tackling one of the most pressing health challenges of our time," said Alice Miehl, Ph.D., director, Research Development and Special Projects.
